Performance Works International and TWCCTW supporting Guiding Star Monastery in Myanmar
For 2019 and 2020 Performance Works is Proudly supporting The Guiding Star Monastery in Myanmar, through its partnership with the TWCCTW (Together we can change the world) charity.
Performance Works International is proud to have donated funds to support the building of a new computer and accommodation centre for students, and provide technology for the classrooms. Our aim is to provide the best equipment and education to those who need it in Myanmar, as part of our ongoing support for charitable work across South East Asia. This sits alongside alongside our commitment to support local communities where we are based – for example FKC school in Cambodia, South East Asia and All About Trafford in the UK.
As a first step to getting up and running in our support of TWCCTW and The Guiding Star Monastery, we are delighted to announce that there is a temporary computer room now live and accessible. There is a total of 14 laptops, each with a dedicated mouse for ease of use. This is in place while the new computer room and accommodation block is built. We congratulate and reinforce our strong support for this initiative also to U Vimala, the Head Monk at Guiding Star Monastery. We are delighted to support TWCCTW and The South East Asia Foundation.
TWCCTW is dedicated to improving the well-being of disadvantaged children and women in SE Asia. We do this by offering both funding and our professional skills to carefully vetted organizations that provide education and job-skills-training to these deserving people, enabling them to achieve independent, self-sustaining lives.
Like you, we want to make the world a better place, particularly for those most vulnerable. Impoverished societies typically provide far fewer opportunities for girls to attend school and be productive members of their communities. By targeting this segment of society, we have an opportunity to significantly and positively impact poverty while improving human potential.
TWCCTW raises money to support non-government groups that are eminently qualified to serve girls, boys, and women in seven SE Asian countries, namely: Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, the Philippines and Myanmar. Along with raising money, we establish sustainability, generate awareness, and invest time, energy and love with each group.
TWWCTW is very selective about the homes and orphanages chosen for support. An onsite visit is made prior to approval. In addition, the organizations must demonstrate ethical, trustworthy, fiscally responsible practices in the performance of their work; focus on educating girls, including addressing issues of health, safety, and the well-being of girls and women; and be receptive to our hands-on coaching to improve the sustainability of their organizations.
